| AC System Not Keeping Up |
The AC system is not keeping my house cool. The AC runs all day and doesn’t cool the house.
This is a common complaint when the outdoor temperature is in the high 90’s and 100’s.
There are a few of things to consider.
1) The system has not been maintained. The indoor or outdoor coil is dirty, preventing an efficient transfer of heat/cool so the unit runs longer than it needs to.
2) A leak has developed in your system. The refrigerant has leaked out so the unit is not working to the capacity that it was designed to.
3) Duct work was never sealed properly and air is leaking into the crawl space or attic. You paid to make this air cold, only to have it be wasted.
4) And then there is the situation where everything is working as designed but still does not keep up. Following article describes this situation.

Now is the time for spring cleanings, preparing your system for the hot summer ahead. What are you going to get? A cleaning? An inspection? A system evaluation? There are a lot of different skill levels and prices. I spend about an hour to an hour and a half to do a cleaning and checkup.

| Controlling Mosquitos With Nature |

When we moved into our current home, we were grateful for increased indoor square footage, the beautiful and friendly neighborhood and the wonderful view of trees and greenery...a true “park like setting”. After spending just a little bit of time outdoors, we realized something else...we were sharing our property and summer months with a plethora of mosquitoes. Within a few weeks after moving in and having company over, our families were getting a little tired of what were nicknamed ”Belnap Bites”…that is, the numerous bites obtained after just a minutes outdoors. We wanted to eat outdoors, play in the woods and start to garden, but the mosquito population was really something to battle with.
